Part Time Instructors for Fun S.T.E.M Enrichment Program

Engineering for Kids is an exciting program designed in building the next generation of Engineers! We have a fun and exciting curriculum for our during/after school programs and camps. We are currently recruiting lead and assistant instructors to teach our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based curriculum to kids ages 4-14 throughout the Middlesex County and Somerset County of NJ. 

If you enjoy working with children in a technical hands-on capacity, then this is the right opportunity for you! You must be a highly motivated self-starter with related prior experience.  You will be working in a fun and supportive environment. We provide ample training and all the materials necessary for the teaching. The Program Director is a Ph.D. in science that is passionate about S.T.E.M education and hand-on learning.

Lead Instructors:

- Teaching lessons to school age children: after school programs, camps, community workshops, parties, etc.

- Monitoring and supervising student interactions

- Communicating with the parents and school administration 

Assistant Instructors:

- Assisting the Lead Teacher during lessons

- Supervising activities


- Must be punctual and dependable 

- Must have great energy and child-friendly personality. Knowing how to connect to children is essential. You Previous experiences working with group of children is required for Lead Instructor.  

- People with following experiences will be given priority:

STEAM/STEM-based learning (engineering, science, Robotics, architecture, coding, technology, gaming, etc.) 

SKILLS-based instructors, i.e., sewing, woodworking

ART-based instructors, i.e., illustration, design, etc. 

HOBBY-based instructors, i.e., modeling and crafts

Current substitute teachers and Education major/minor students with strong interest in S.T.E.M. education.   

- Self-starter that is willing to learn; 

- Confident and able to work independently.

- Must pass background check

-  Must has a valid driver's license and has a dependable vehicle allows you drive around to different locations. 

- Schedule is flexible. During school year, must be able to work at least two week days during after school hours (3:00 – 6:00 pm), weekend hours may also available.


Commensurate with experience and responsibilities.

The Edison EFK Program Director is a Ph.D. scientist that is passionate about children's STEM education. We provide comprehensive training, a detailed curriculum, and all the equipment used to teach a class. This job has flexible hours and great fun.
